Children in these vast continents suffer from abject poverty, malnutrition, death from preventable causes, ignorance and illiteracy, and other extremely difficult circumstances like wars, social and political strife, exploitation and human-right abuses. The world should respond urgently to the needs of these people living under severe poverty and deprivation, especially our children and women. With a strong commitment to purposeful cooperation and collaboration with families, local communities, NGOs, governments, intergovernmental, international agencies as well as private individuals and corporations, we can build and shape the future for our children for healthy growth and development, greater productivity, social equity, peace and respect for human rights and freedoms. | |||
